“I got two A’s,” the small boy cried.     His voice was filled with glee.

His father very bluntly asked,

 “Why didn’t you get three?”

“Mom, I’ve got the dishes done.”

The girl called from the door.

Her mother very calmly said,

 “Did you sweep the floor?

“I’ve mowed the grass,” the tall boy said.

  “And put the mower away.”

His father asked him with a shrug –

  “Did you clean off the clay?”

The children in the house next door

    seem happy and content.

The same thing happened over there.

    And this is how it went……..  

“I got two A’s,” the small boy cried,    his voice was filled with glee.

His father proudly said, “That’s great: I’m glad you belong to me!”

“Mom, I’ve got the dishes done.”  The girl called from the door.

Her mother smiled and softly said,

  “Each day I love you more!”

“I’ve mowed the grass,” the tall boy said.  “And put the mower away.”

His father answered with much joy.

“You’ve made my happy day!”

Children deserve a little praise

  For tasks they’re asked to do.

If they’re to lead a happy life,

  So much depends on you!

As long as people live you will love them. As old as people get you will care for them. No matter how far away they live you will call them. When people pass away and go up in the clouds you should be patient for the day you will see them again.

“My Favorite Food” by Ashley

      There are a lot of foods I like, but this is my favorite.  I like Orange Chicken because it is chicken, and it has a sauce that is a bit spicy but tastes delicious.  It doesn’t taste like orange very much, but it is still good.

     My favorite food is Top Ramen.  It is a type of soup.  My mom puts egg in it.  Normally, I eat two bowls of it.  That’s my favorite food.

    My favorite food is sushi.  I like it because of it has yummy, sticky rice, salty seaweed, and that lovely tasty fish.  It is too good to be explained.  I eat raw fish, too.  I like salmon, halibut, and tuna.  It is so good!  That is my favorite food.

     I love many foods but my favorite is SUSHI, although I almost never get it.  When I do get it, it’s gone in five minutes flat.  My favorite sushi is made with rice, seaweed, raw tuna, and fried avocado.  What is your favorite food?

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Put the two cups of flour, powdered sugar, and butter into a food processor (or blender). Turn it on and watch until the mixture for a ball of dough., then turn off.

2. Press the dough into the baking dish with your hands and prick it all over with a fork. Bake 20 minutes. Use oven mitts to remove the baking dish from the oven

3. While the crust is baking, make the lemon filling. Break eggs into the mixing bowl and whisk until your arm gets tired. Add the sugar, ¼ cup flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until lumps dissolve. Whisk in the lemon zest and juice until evenly blended.

4. Pour the lemon mixture over the baked crust. Bake another 25 to 30 minutes until slightly brown at the edges. Use oven mitts to remove the dessert from the oven. Now the hard part: wait for it to cool before cutting it into squares. Sift powder on top.

Makes 15 lemony squares.
